PAF to Assist Zimbabwe in Modernization of Its Air Force


Islamabad: A high-level delegation led by Commander of the Air Force of Zimbabwe, Air Marshal John Jacob Nzvede, called on Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, in Islamabad. During the meeting, Air Chief Marshal Sidhu reiterated the Pakistan Air Force’s unwavering support to assist the Air Force of Zimbabwe in upgrading its human resource capabilities, maintenance standards, and operational training.



According to Radio Pakistan, Air Chief Marshal Sidhu emphasized the long-standing military ties between Pakistan and Zimbabwe, which are grounded in mutual understanding on issues related to regional peace and security. Air Marshal Nzvede expressed a strong interest in restructuring Zimbabwe’s Air Force training framework and sought comprehensive support from the PAF. Recognizing the globally acknowledged standards of PAF’s training, he expressed a desire for Zimbabwe Air Force cadets to receive training at the prestigious PAF Academy Asghar Khan. This would enable them to benefit from the academy’s state-of-the-art training modules.



Air Marshal Nzvede also requested the deployment of PAF pilots, engineers, and technical personnel to assist in modernizing the Zimbabwe Air Force. The meeting further focused on the timely procurement and delivery of 12 Super Mushak trainer aircraft, which are expected to bolster the operational training capacity of the Zimbabwe Air Force.



Earlier, upon his arrival, Air Marshal John Jacob Nzvede was presented with a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Air Force.
