Lahore: The Punjab Assembly on Thursday approved the Provincial Budget amounting to 5,335 billion rupees for the next fiscal year 2025-26. The session took place at the Assembly Building in Lahore, with Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan presiding over the proceedings.

According to Radio Pakistan, the House engaged in discussions and gave approval to the Demands for Grants related to Municipalities and Autonomous Institutions, while the Cut Motions proposed by the Opposition were rejected. Subsequently, the remaining Demands for Grants were passed using the Guillotine procedure, expediting the approval process.

The budget session was adjourned and is scheduled to reconvene tomorrow afternoon at 2 PM at the Assembly Building in Lahore.
