Over 43.3 Million Children Vaccinated Against Polio Across Country


Islamabad: Over forty-three point three million children under five have been vaccinated against polio in the first five days of an anti-polio campaign nationwide.



According to Radio Pakistan, the National Emergency Operations Centre reports significant vaccination coverage across various regions.



In Punjab, over twenty-two point nine million children have received the oral polio vaccine. Sindh has immunized approximately ten point two million children. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, more than six point one million children have been vaccinated, while Balochistan has seen over two point five million children receive the vaccine. Additionally, around four hundred and forty-three thousand children in Islamabad, nearly two hundred and ninety-four thousand in Gilgit-Baltistan, and over seven hundred and thirty-three thousand in Azad Jammu and Kashmir have been vaccinated.



The ongoing national campaign aims to vaccinate over forty-five million children and will continue uninterrupted until tomorrow. In South Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the campaign is scheduled to begin on Monday. The NEOC has urged parents to ensure that every child under five years of age receives the polio vaccine.
