Makkah: Over 1.67 million Hujjaj performed ‘Rami-al Jamarat’ in Mina on Friday where they used seven pebbles each to stone the big Jamarah. After completing the stoning ritual, the pilgrims, referred to as the guests of Allah, sacrificed animals and either shaved their heads or trimmed their hair.
According to Radio Pakistan, the women pilgrims cut a lock of their hair as part of the ritual. Once these actions were completed, male pilgrims were no longer obligated to wear the Ihram. Afterward, the pilgrims are scheduled to fulfill another essential ritual of Hajj known as ‘Tawaf e Ziarah’.
Furthermore, the Hujjaj will continue to reside in Mina, a tent city, during the 11th and 12th days of Dhul Hijjah, as part of their Hajj pilgrimage. The correspondent reports that the total number of Hujjaj this year stands at 1,673,230, with 1,506,576 being foreigners and 166,654 from Saudi Arabia.
