Kazan: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) and the Russian Federation have agreed to expand collaboration in higher education, scientific research, emerging technologies, and joint academic initiatives. This agreement was reached during the First Working Group meeting between OIC-COMSTECH and the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education in Kazan, Russia.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting focused on academic mobility, capacity-building programs, and climate cooperation, including carbon supersite projects, joint scientific programs, and research infrastructure. Coordinator General of OIC-COMSTECH, Professor Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Chaudhary, highlighted Russia's role as an important observer member of OIC-COMSTECH. He underscored the importance of scientific diplomacy and collaborative research in addressing global challenges.
Airat Gatiyatov, Russian Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education, expressed enthusiasm for Russia's growing engagement with OIC-COMSTECH. He pointed out the potential for joint initiatives in education, research, innovation, and academic exchanges. Both parties also committed to strengthening long-term cooperation through scientific exchanges, collaborative research initiatives, and institutional partnerships.
