OGDCL Ittehad Union Discusses Key Welfare Issues with Secretary WWF


Islamabad: A delegation of the OGDCL Ittehad Union of All Pakistan Employees (Registered CBA), led by Member Governing Body WWF and Union President Zahid Hussain Bhutto, met Secretary Workers Welfare Fund, Zulfiqar Ahmad in Islamabad today. The meeting reviewed key welfare matters of OGDCL employees and their families.



According to Radio Pakistan, the delegation apprised the Secretary of issues faced by workers’ children pertaining to admissions and fee payments in educational institutions. Matters related to Marriage and Death Grants, Hajj quota, and ongoing housing schemes also came under discussion.



Speaking on the occasion, Secretary WWF reaffirmed that, on the instructions of Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain, comprehensive reforms for workers’ welfare are in progress. He said the Fund is moving towards complete digitalization, adding that a mobile application will soon be launched enabling workers to track their cases, receive updates, and access welfare services from home. Educational institutions will also be linked with the system for timely facilitation.



The Secretary said deserving workers are being facilitated for Hajj under a transparent policy. Talking about housing schemes, Zulfiqar Ahmad assured that allotment of houses and flats will be carried out strictly on merit and in a transparent manner. He also agreed to place the union’s recommendations before the upcoming Governing Body meeting.



The delegation appreciated the Secretary WWF for ongoing welfare initiatives and expressed confidence that cooperation for the betterment of industrial workers will continue with the same spirit.
