Islamabad: In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, occupation troops have launched large scale cordon and search operations in Baramulla district.
According to Radio Pakistan, the joint operations cover dense forests in Gulmarg area along the Line of Control and around 35 villages in the Kandi-Sultanpora belt. The troops have also launched a search operation in Doda district.
People were harassed and youth were subjected to rigorous questioning during the operations. The All Parties Hurriyat Conference in a statement issued in Srinagar today strongly condemned these so-called operations, terming them an attempt to terrorize locals.
Meanwhile, puppet Chief Minister of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah has criticised the use of the Public Safety Act against Aam Aadmi Party Member of Legislative Assembly Meraj Malik, calling it a misuse of the law. According to Kashmir Media Service, Omar Abdullah speaking to the reporters in Chennai said law and order and policing are not part of the elected government’s responsibility.
Aam Aadmi Party MLA Mehraj Malik, representing Doda constituency of IIOJK, was booked under draconian Public Safety Act on September 8.
