Murree: The National Highway Authority has ensured safety and accessibility of all major highways across the country amidst heavy snowfall and a large influx of tourists. In the Murree and Galiyat region, the NHA staff and heavy machinery remained mobilized round the clock to counter the effects of continuous snowfall.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Murree Expressway was kept open for all types of traffic despite the extraordinary rush of tourists. To prevent accidents caused by slippery road surfaces, teams conducted regular salt sprinkling to maintain smooth traffic flow and ensure safety of travelers.
Similarly, all national highways in Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and northern areas are now fully clear for traffic. Road access has been completely restored for commuters on the N-25 at Khojak Top and the N-50 between Kan Mehtarzai and Muslim Bagh.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, intensive clearance activities are going on the N-145 where some sections have been cleared while work is underway to clear the remaining.
