Kabul: A total of 3,172 Afghan families, comprising 16,764 members, have returned to their homeland from neighboring Iran and Pakistan over the past four days, according to Afghanistan’s High Commission for Addressing Returnees Problems.

According to Nam News Network, the returnees have been crossing back into Afghanistan at several key border points. These include the Torkham border crossing in eastern Nangarhar province, the Spin Boldak border crossing in southern Kandahar province, the Islam Qala border crossing in western Herat province, the Abrisham border crossing in western Nimroz province, and the Bahramcha border crossing in southern Helmand province.

The commission is providing support to the returnees, which includes temporary shelters, food, water, medical care, and transportation services to help them reach their respective provinces.
