Islamabad: The Disaster Management Coordination Forum of the NDMA has directed for enhancing collaboration, data sharing, and streamlining joint planning processes to tackle natural disasters. The directive was issued at a meeting of the Forum held at NDMA headquarters in Islamabad today, with Chairman NDMA Lt. General Inam Haider Malik in the chair.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Forum aimed at strengthening coordination between the federation and provinces to provide strategic guidance and monitoring disaster management activities and interventions at national and provincial level. The forum discussed critical operational gaps, coordination mechanisms, and resource needs at National and Provincial level.
The session brought together heads of Provincial Disaster Management Authorities and Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management authorities. Participants exchanged experiences and highlighted common challenges in preparedness, response, and anticipatory action.
