Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that the role of the National Police Bureau (NPB) is of utmost importance in improving the policing system in the country. Chairing a meeting at the National Police Bureau in Islamabad, he emphasized the institution’s potential in ensuring effective policymaking, implementing reforms, and fostering cooperation between law enforcement agencies across the nation.
According to Radio Pakistan, Naqvi underscored the need for an action plan aimed at modernizing the National Police Bureau. He directed the immediate acquisition of software designed for research and analysis to enhance the capacity for reviewing and analyzing crime statistics from various regions. This move is intended to bolster the analytical capabilities of law enforcement agencies.
Furthermore, the Interior Minister instructed the acceleration of the process for issuing police character certificates under the NPB. He also highlighted the importance of international cooperation, advocating for the promotion of partnerships with global organizations and increasing the number of officers sent abroad for training and assignments.
