NAB Achieves Historic Recovery of Rs 6.213 Trillion in 2025

Islamabad: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) reported a record recovery of 6.213 trillion rupees over the past year, marking the highest annual recovery since the Bureau was established in 1999. This significant achievement was highlighted in NAB's annual performance report for 2025.

According to Radio Pakistan, NAB's total recoveries, both direct and indirect, have now accumulated to a staggering 11.524 trillion rupees over the last three years. A major factor in this achievement was the reclamation of 2.98 million acres of encroached state and forest land, valued at 5.98 trillion rupees.

Additionally, NAB provided substantial relief to 115,587 victims of fraudulent housing and investment schemes, disbursing a total of 180 billion rupees to those affected. Throughout the year, the Bureau managed 23,411 complaints, implementing a time-bound verification mechanism to effectively filter out non-actionable reports, resulting in only 367 complaints being deemed actionable.

The Bureau completed 191 inquiries and 65 investigations, while 152 inquiries and 56 investigations were closed and referred to other departments and agencies. This strategic approach ensured that NAB's resources were concentrated on cases with significant potential for recovery and accountability.
