NA Passes Resolution Condemning Israel’s Aggression Against Iran

Islamabad: The National Assembly passed a unanimous resolution on Friday, condemning Israel’s aggression against Iran, which has resulted in significant loss of life and property for the Iranian people.

According to Radio Pakistan, the resolution, introduced by Syed Naveed Qamar, emphasized that the Israeli strikes violate the sovereignty and integrity of a United Nations Member State and contravene international law and the UN Charter. The House expressed concern that such actions by Israel pose a threat not only to the Middle East but to global peace and stability, holding Israel responsible for potential consequences. The resolution affirmed Iran’s right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter.

The National Assembly urged the government to convene a UN Security Council meeting and engage the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to address and halt the aggression against Iran.

Additionally, a general discussion on the Federal Budget for the upcoming financial year commenced. Opposition Leader Omar Ayub Khan advocated for exempting the Information Technology sector from taxes to enhance export potential and stimulate economic growth.

Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhary highlighted the government’s efforts to create a favorable investment environment, mentioning reforms aimed at sustainable development. He assured that the budget includes measures for the development of Balochistan and that constructive suggestions from all members will be considered.
