Sanjawi: Prime Minister's Spokesperson for Foreign Media Mosharraf Zaidi has said that a sustained multilateral assessment clearly establishes Afghanistan as a terrorist safe haven. In a post on his X handle, he highlighted several key references from UN reports that underline Afghanistan's role as a sanctuary for multiple terrorist organizations.
According to Radio Pakistan, the spokesperson rejected as disinformation the recent accusations by the chief spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan against Pakistan. Mosharraf Zaidi said while the Afghan Taliban attempts to externalize terrorist violence under the label of ISIS and deny TTP's operational presence, the UN record describes a permissive environment in which TTP, Al Qaeda, and ISIL-K are all reported to be active and growing.
He said the Afghan Taliban's insinuations of Al Qaeda, ISKP, TTP, BLA, and ETIM being different organizations are attempts to confound the issue. These organizations draw upon the pool of recruits being trained and indoctrinated in Afghan madrasahs and coordinate closely to achieve their objectives. He said their financiers use the same methods and their logistic chains benefit from a terror-crime nexus.
The spokesperson mentioned that ISKP has recently accepted responsibility for an attack in Pakistan. He said the allegations like the ones leveled by Afghan and other propagandists not only beggar belief, they also signal sinister intent.
