Srinagar: All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has extended greetings to the Muslim Ummah, particularly the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, on the beginning of the new Islamic year, praying for peace, unity, and strength for Muslims across the world.
According to Radio Pakistan, addressing the Friday congregation at the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar today, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq appealed to Muslim countries to unite against challenges being faced by the Muslim world. He emphasized the importance of solidarity and collective action in overcoming these challenges.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, acknowledging their patience and courage during times of severe trial. He voiced his support for their cause and underscored the need for unity among Muslim nations in supporting the Palestinian struggle.
Additionally, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq welcomed the ceasefire between Iran and Israel. He praised the resilience and courage of the Iranian people in dealing with the aggression and war imposed upon them. He also commended the Iranian leadership for their patience and responsible handling of the crisis, describing it as a hallmark of a responsible state.
