Met Office Predicts Cold and Dry Weather Across the Country


Islamabad: Cold and dry weather is expected over most parts of the country while partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are likely in the upper regions during the next twelve hours. However, cloudy weather with rain and wind-thunderstorms is anticipated in Northern and Western Balochistan. Moderate to dense fog patches may develop over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during the morning and night.

According to Radio Pakistan, the temperature recorded in major cities this morning included Islamabad at six degrees centigrade, Peshawar and Muzaffarabad at seven, Lahore at nine, Karachi at thirteen, Quetta and Murree at three, and Gilgit at two degrees centigrade. The weather forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir predicts partly cloudy and very cold weather in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula, while Jammu is expected to experience cold, dry, and foggy conditions in the morning.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued an alert regardin
g rains and snowfall over hills in most parts of the province from tomorrow until the first of the next month. According to PDMA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, all Deputy Commissioners have been directed to take precautionary measures to avoid any human and material losses during the forecast period. The Authority has also advised all relevant departments to stay alert for restoring road links for traffic in case of closure due to landslides. Tourists have been advised to refrain from visiting hilly areas of the province during this period.
