Vehari: Mass marriage ceremony was held in Vehari today under the Dhee Rani Program. Ninety-three couples tied the knot in the ceremony.
According to Radio Pakistan, the brides participating in the event were provided with a complete dowry, which included essential items such as a double bed, wardrobe, sofa set, and utensils. In addition to the dowry, financial assistance cheques were distributed to the brides to support their new beginnings.
The ceremony was inclusive, with members of the Christian community and couples who are hearing and speech impaired also participating in the weddings. Regular arrangements were made for the Walima, and food was provided for the guests present at the mass marriages.
Speakers at the event described the Dhee Rani Program as a step towards social welfare and solidarity, highlighting its positive impact on the community.
