Karachi: Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry has said the maritime sector posted a record one hundred billion rupees profit last year after sweeping reforms.
According to Radio Pakistan, outlining the ministry's annual performance, Junaid Chaudhry stated that the government has also approved a National Shipping Policy aimed at expanding the Pakistan-flagged fleet to reduce reliance on foreign carriers.
Junaid Chaudhry mentioned that stakeholder consultations had been concluded on the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Policy, which targets annual seafood exports of two billion dollars.
