Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Designing (PIFD) and National Book Foundation have signed a Letter of Understanding to establish PIFD's new campus in Karachi. The signing ceremony was held in Islamabad today. Under the agreement, the PIFD will operate its new campus on the 2nd floor of the National Book Foundation's Braille Complex Building in Karachi. The new campus is expected to start operations in September this year. The campus will initially offer a range of short training courses as diplomas and certificate courses in Fashion, Textile, Jewelry Designing and Visual Arts. The new campus aims to provide state-of-the-art training facilities to equip students with the skills necessary for careers in design and visual arts. Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui appreciated PIFD and assured the Ministry's full support to it in realizing the objectives of the new campus.
