LESCO Continues Indiscriminate Crackdown Against Power Theft: CEO


Lahore: Chief Executive Officer Lahore Electric Supply Company, Engineer Muhammad Ramzan Butt, has stated that LESCO is continuing its indiscriminate campaign against electricity theft and strictly adhering to a zero-tolerance policy in this regard.



According to Radio Pakistan, in an interview with their correspondent Qasim Bukhari, Engineer Butt mentioned that following the directives of the Minister for Energy, Awais Leghari, LESCO conducted operations against electricity theft, detecting 22,694,400 units worth over 890 million rupees. This effort aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision, where LESCO demonstrated significant performance last year by reducing losses by 60 billion rupees and uncovering major electricity theft scandals.



Engineer Muhammad Ramzan Butt further revealed that LESCO recovered 1.89 billion rupees from 42,588 defaulters and organized public e-Katchehris to ensure the swift resolution of consumer complaints. Additionally, during the monsoon season, all LESCO offices and operational teams have been placed on high alert to address any potential issues promptly.
