Lahore: Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan says ensuring maintenance of law and order during Muharram ul Haram is top priority of provincial government. Talking to a delegation of District Rawalpindi Peace Committee at Governor’s House in Lahore on Saturday, he appreciated performance of Peace Committees for ensuring religious harmony during Muharram ul Haram.
According to Radio Pakistan, the governor emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between various stakeholders to ensure peaceful observance of Muharram. He acknowledged the role of Peace Committees in fostering an environment of tolerance and understanding among different religious communities during this period.
The governor also highlighted the need for continued vigilance and coordination among law enforcement agencies and local communities to prevent any untoward incidents. He reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to taking all necessary measures to maintain peace and security during the holy month.
