Islamabad: Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Nurgozhoevich Zhaparov arrived in Islamabad today on his two-day maiden state visit to Pakistan. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly received the Kyrgyz President at the airport, where a 21-gun salute was presented in his honor. Children dressed in traditional attire offered a bouquet of flowers to the visiting dignitary, marking the beginning of a significant diplomatic exchange.
According to Radio Pakistan, President Zhaparov is accompanied by a high-level delegation that includes senior cabinet ministers, top officials, and prominent business leaders. During his visit, President Zhaparov is scheduled to meet with the President of Pakistan and engage in one-on-one talks, followed by delegation-level discussions with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Additionally, he will address the Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Business Forum, highlighting the economic and strategic interests shared by both nations.
The discussions are expected to cover a comprehen
sive review of bilateral relations, with an emphasis on exploring new avenues for cooperation in various sectors such as trade, energy, defense, education, people-to-people exchanges, and regional connectivity. This visit underscores the enduring ties between Pakistan and the Kyrgyz Republic, rooted in a shared history and mutual aspirations for peace and prosperity in Central and South Asia.
