KSA Calls for Peaceful Resolution of Pakistan-India Disputes


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has appreciated the diplomatic efforts of Saudi Arabia to de-escalate the prevailing situation and bring peace to the region. He was speaking with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Adel Al-Jubeir, who visited him in Islamabad.



According to Radio Pakistan, during their meeting, Prime Minister Sharif extended warm regards to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations and acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s steadfast support for Pakistan.



While discussing the situation in South Asia, Prime Minister Sharif condemned India’s missile and drone strikes against Pakistan, which resulted in the loss of innocent lives and damage to civilian infrastructure. He emphasized that India’s actions violated Pakistan’s sovereignty and posed a threat to regional peace.



The Prime Minister also praised the Armed Forces of Pakistan for their commitment and courage in defending the nation. He reiterated Pakistan’s determination to defend its sovereignty in line with Article 51 of the UN Charter.



On this occasion, the Saudi Minister expressed condolences over the civilian casualties and conveyed Saudi Arabia’s concern about the situation in South Asia. He reiterated the call for de-escalation and a peaceful resolution of disputes between Pakistan and India, based on international law and UN Security Council resolutions.
