Islamabad: Minister for Education and Professional Training, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has stressed the need of understanding and adapting to AI and advanced technologies to compete the world. He was speaking at a ceremony held at Islamabad College for Girls in connection with the inauguration of Summer Fiesta 2025.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Summer Fiesta 2025, launched by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training in collaboration with the Federal Directorate of Education, offers a wide range of free courses aimed at equipping students with practical and creative skills. Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui emphasized the transformative power of education, saying that education is the only way to bring a revolution across generations.
He underscored the importance of skills development, especially for youth and women and said that in a society like Pakistan, where women share half the sky, their education and skill development are equally vital. Reflecting on emerging technological trends, the Minister highlighted the need to prepare for a rapidly changing world shaped by artificial intelligence and innovation.
In her remarks, Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Wajiha Qamar praised the initiative, reaffirming the government’s commitment to educational empowerment. The event was also attended by Parliamentary Secretary Ms. Farah Naz Akbar.
In his welcome speech, Director General Federal Directorate of Education Syed Junaid Akhlaq reiterated the significance of skill-based education and appreciated the support of partner organizations and host institutions. The Summer Fiesta 2025 will continue for two weeks, providing a unique blend of learning, creativity, and fun free of cost for students during their summer vacation.
