Kazakh President’s Visit to Pakistan Will Strengthen Regional Integration: PM

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed confidence that the visit of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Pakistan will open new avenues for shared prosperity and stronger regional integration. In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister stated his delight in hosting President Tokayev in Islamabad on this historic visit, marking the first time a Kazakh President has visited in twenty-three years.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized their agreement to elevate bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership. This agreement aims to enhance bilateral trade to one billion dollars, deepen regional connectivity, and expand cooperation across sectors including economic, defense, energy, and people-to-people domains.

The Prime Minister noted the participation in the Pakistan-Kazakhstan Business Forum, highlighting the engagement of business leaders from both nations in creating new opportunities across key sectors. He also mentioned that both sides will work closely to devise a roadmap to translate political goodwill into concrete economic outcomes before his upcoming visit to Astana.
