Washington: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has stated that the Kashmir dispute is the major hurdle in the way of progress for the people of South Asia.
According to Radio Pakistan, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, during an interview with a private TV channel, emphasized that the timely and effective role of the US leadership during recent Pakistan-India tensions led to a ceasefire and brought the Kashmir issue to the forefront on the global stage.
He further mentioned that the Indian government is pursuing a philosophy centered around Hindutva in both its domestic and foreign policies. The leadership of India, he claimed, is openly expressing expansionist and hegemonic ambitions.
The Ambassador also remarked that escalating war rhetoric in a nuclear-armed region is not a responsible approach. He underscored the significance of addressing these tensions to ensure stability and progress in South Asia.
