Jail Reforms Committee of Punjab Bar Council submits proposals to CM Naqvi

A delegation of Jail Reforms Committee of Punjab Bar Council met with Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi in Lahore today.

During meeting, the proposals to provide basic facilities to prisoners in jails were discussed.

The meeting briefed Chief Minister that duration of telephonic conversation of prisoners with family has been increased to 300 minutes per month as well as food budget is also being raised.

He was also told that management of prison hospitals is being entrusted to the health department and bakery and convenience stores are being established for the prisoners in the jails.

He was told that vacancies are being sanctioned to meet the shortage of jail staff and Punjab Bar Council delegation offer to provide free legal aid to prisoners.

On the occasion, Chairman Committee Pir Imran Akram Bodla presented the recommendations regarding jail reforms to Punjab Chief Minister.
