Islamabad: Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, has announced that comprehensive security arrangements have been finalized to ensure peace and public safety on New Year’s Night.
According to Radio Pakistan, during a meeting chaired in Islamabad, it was revealed that 3,500 Islamabad Police personnel will be deployed across the federal capital. In addition, 350 officers will be responsible for traffic management duties to maintain a smooth flow of traffic.
Special security contingents and the Quick Response Force will remain on high alert at sensitive locations and busy areas of the city. The IG emphasized that strict crackdowns will be conducted against hooliganism, one-wheeling, dangerous stunts, skating on roads, and harassment, with violators facing legal action without discrimination.
Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi also called upon parents to prevent their children from engaging in illegal and risky activities. He urged citizens to celebrate New Year’s festivities responsibly, within the bounds of law, and to exhibit the behavior of civilized citizens.
The IG assured that Islamabad Police will remain fully vigilant around the clock to maintain law and order in the city.
