Federal Ombudsman Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi has said that International Symposium on Ombudsmanship and the Citizens' Rights will be held soon in Islamabad with the cooperation of Asian Ombudsman Association. Addressing a news conference today, he said this international activity will bring together heads of Ombudsman Institutions from Asia, Islamic world and representatives of other regional and international bodies. The Federal Ombudsman said this will also provide an opportunity to showcase the performance of Ombudsman in Pakistan as well as help improve country's positive image. Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi pointed out that about two hundred thousand people benefit from the office of Federal Ombudsman every year. He said the ombudsman office addresses complaints of various kinds including those relating to the electricity and gas bills. He said that their efforts include enhancing the accessibility of Ombudsman especially to the far flung areas of the country.
