New york: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, has categorically rejected the comparison drawn by Israel between its actions and an unrelated incident involving Pakistan, labeling the analogy as misleading and unfounded. Exercising his right of reply at the Security Council in response to comments made by the Israeli delegate, Asim dismissed the remarks as an attempt by Israel to divert attention from its own illegal activities and violations of international law.
According to Radio Pakistan, Asim Iftikhar emphasized that Pakistan’s stance on the incident is well-documented and accessible to the public. He reiterated that the international community is cognizant of Pakistan’s significant role and sacrifices in combating terrorism. The global community, including Pakistan’s partners, acknowledges that the dismantling of Al Qaeda was largely attributed to Pakistan’s counterterrorism initiatives.
The Permanent Representative further stated that Pakistan cannot accept allegations from what he described as an irresponsible rogue state. He accused Israel of perpetrating the most severe form of state terrorism, particularly in Gaza and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, actions that have been ongoing for decades.
