Islamabad: International Mountain Day is being observed today.

According to Radio Pakistan, the theme of the day this year is ‘Glaciers matter for water, food and livelihoods in mountains and beyond’. The day is aimed at raising awareness about protecting mountains and supporting the populations living near them.

In his message on the occasion, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif urged the nation to protect these fragile ecosystems through coordinated measures.
