International Moon Day Observed to Commemorate Apollo 11 Landing


Karachi: International Moon Day was observed on Sunday. It marked the anniversary of the first landing by humans on the Moon as part of the Apollo 11 lunar mission in 1969.



According to Radio Pakistan, the UN General Assembly declared International Moon Day in its resolution on “International cooperation in the peaceful uses of outer space” in 2021. The celebrations also consider the achievements of all states in the exploration of the Moon.
