Islamabad: Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference officially begins in Islamabad tomorrow. Parliamentary delegations from various countries continue to arrive in Islamabad to participate in the conference.
According to Radio Pakistan, delegations from Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Palestine, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Morocco, Maldives, Barbados, Kenya, Serbia, Philippines, and Rwanda have already reached Islamabad for the event. The theme of the conference is ‘Peace, Security and Development’.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, and Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq are scheduled to address the conference. The Senate of Pakistan is organizing the event, which will be chaired by Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, who will also hold bilateral meetings with the participating delegates.
The event serves as an example of Pakistan’s parliamentary role at the global level and is expected to further highlight Pakistan’s positive image based on peace and mutual cooperation.
