A meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Committee was held in Islamabad today to review the Remission Policy 2002 reforms. The meeting, which met with Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar in the chair, laid emphasis on the importance of introducing reforms to ensure a fair and mitigating sentencing system for the convenience of needy prisoners. Proposals were also considered to revise and amend the policy for the betterment of deserving prisoners. The participants also reviewed the Interior Ministry's Remission Policy 2002 and presented their legal views and suggestions for further improvement.
