Info Minister’s Social Media Account Blocked in India

New Delhi: The social media account of Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, has been blocked in India. This move follows the previous blockades of social media accounts belonging to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and the Director General of Inter Services Public Relations in the country.

According to Radio Pakistan, the blocking of Attaullah Tarar’s account is a response to his efforts in highlighting India’s state repression, human rights violations, and attempts to suppress the voice of the Kashmiri people on international platforms. The action appears to be retaliatory, aiming to silence critical voices from Pakistan on digital platforms within India.

The blockades have sparked discussions about the freedom of expression and the role of social media in international politics. The situation underscores ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, particularly concerning issues related to Kashmir.
