Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has underscored the critical role of sports in unlocking the potential of the youth. Speaking to media representatives in Islamabad following a friendly match between the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Sports Journalists Association and UK media teams, he stressed the necessity for all stakeholders to collaborate in the promotion of sports activities as a means of engaging young people in healthy and recreational endeavors.

According to Radio Pakistan, Attaullah Tarar highlighted the revival of the Sports Hunt program, originally initiated by the PML-N government during its previous tenure. This program aims to provide a platform for youth to showcase their talent. The Minister also mentioned the revival of departmental sports, aligning with the objective of nurturing sports activities and discovering talent capable of representing the country on an international level.

The Minister reiterated that promoting sports is a primary focus for the government. He advocated for the establishment of an international standard cricket stadium in Islamabad to further support this initiative.
