Info Minister Commits to Tackling Media Industry Challenges


Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has extended his congratulations to the newly elected office bearers of the Executive Committee of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS).



According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister conveyed his congratulations to the newly elected President of APNS, Senator Sarmad Ali, along with Senior Vice President Nazafreen Saigol, General Secretary Athar Qazi, Vice President Shahab Zuberi, Joint Secretary Mohsin Bilal, and Finance Secretary Naveed Kashif on their successful election.



The Minister highlighted the significant role that APNS has played in the realm of journalism, noting its consistent efforts in promoting independent and responsible journalism across Pakistan. He described APNS as a custodian of the nation’s rich journalistic traditions, acknowledging its active role in bolstering democracy, upholding journalistic principles, and raising public awareness.



Emphasizing the importance of media as a crucial component of any democratic society, Attaullah Tarar assured that the government is committed to providing all necessary support to promote press freedom and address the challenges facing the media industry. He expressed optimism that the newly elected APNS leadership will persist in its mission to foster journalistic values, advance the media industry, and deliver credible and reliable information to the public.
