Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar has urged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to abandon its anti-Pakistan narrative and prioritize the interests of the state and its citizens. He emphasized this in a statement on his X handle, highlighting the need for PTI to realign its priorities.
According to Radio Pakistan, Attaullah Tarar criticized the PTI, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, for sidelining governance in the province. He expressed concern over PTI’s singular focus on an illegal demand, which involves seeking political guidance from their founder, currently in Adiala Jail on a corruption charge. Tarar pointed out that this approach contravenes jail rules and regulations.
The Minister underscored the significance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a crucial province in Pakistan’s fight against terrorism. He criticized the PTI leadership for engaging in politics based on an illegal narrative, particularly in Islamabad, while the provincial government should be concentrating on peace, development, and public welfare.
Tarar also accused a female PTI politician of orchestrating a negative campaign about Khan Sahib using anti-Pakistan accounts linked to Afghanistan and Indian media. He stated that this campaign aimed to defame Pakistan on the international stage, describing it as an open antagonism towards the nation and a deliberate effort to tarnish its reputation.
