Islamabad: President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto is set to arrive in Islamabad today for a two-day official visit. This visit comes at the invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
According to Radio Pakistan, President Subianto will be accompanied by a high-level delegation that includes key ministers and senior officials. The timing of this visit is significant as it coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Indonesia.
During his time in Islamabad, President Subianto will engage in delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Sharif. He is also scheduled to meet with President Asif Ali Zardari, Chief of Army Staff, and the Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The discussions between the two sides will cover a broad agenda aimed at strengthening relations and exploring new avenues for cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, defence, health, IT, climate, education, and culture. Additionally, both leaders will discuss enhancing collaboration on regional and global levels. Several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are anticipated to be signed during this visit.
Pakistan and Indonesia share close and longstanding relations, supported by shared values and mutual interests. President Subianto’s visit is expected to provide a valuable opportunity to deepen bilateral ties and expand mutually beneficial cooperation, contributing to the ongoing growth and diversification of the partnership between the two countries.
