Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has categorically stated that Pakistan has the capacity to respond effectively to any Indian misadventure with full force and might, as has been demonstrated in the past. Talking to representatives of foreign media in Islamabad on Sunday, he said India should not mistake our words for our weakness.
According to Radio Pakistan, referring to the Pulwama incident of February 2019, the Minister said India has tested Pakistan’s patience in the past and was left to regret its actions. He noted India’s consistent failure to show courtesy by condemning or expressing concern over terrorist incidents in Pakistan, like the recent Jaffar Express incident.
The Minister accused India of being involved in state-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan and other countries. He mentioned the trans-national assassination of Sikhs across the globe, allegedly conducted by India, as substantiated by the countries where these events occurred. Tarar claimed there is credible evidence of India’s involvement in funding, harboring, and supporting terrorists in Balochistan.
Attaullah Tarar cited the attack on the Pakistani High Commission in London as an example of India’s extremist ideology prompting assaults on foreign missions. He also mentioned India’s preconceived notions about the Pahalgam incident, suggesting it was an attempt to pin the blame on Pakistan.
He emphasized that blaming Pakistan for the Pahalgam incident serves as a distraction, as Pakistan is achieving significant successes in its war against terrorism, with security forces regularly foiling terror attempts and eliminating terrorists. Tarar highlighted that all allegations by India against Pakistan lack substance, pointing out the absence of evidence and the geographical distance of Pahalgam from the Line of Control.
The Minister called for an independent probe into the incident to demonstrate Pakistan’s innocence. He reinforced the notion that as a frontline state in the war against terrorism, Pakistan cannot be held responsible for such attacks. Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to combating terrorism, Tarar stated that the country will continue to promote global peace and security.
He concluded by highlighting Pakistan’s status as a responsible member of the UN Security Council, its cordial relations with neighboring countries, and its active participation in global and regional alliances, reiterating its commitment to peace.
