ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Set to Commence on 7th February Next Year


Colombo: The 10th ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to begin on 7th February next year. The tournament, which will last for a month, will conclude on 8th March. It will feature 20 teams that are divided into five groups. Six teams, including the defending champions India, will compete on the opening day.

According to Radio Pakistan, the top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Eight stage. Notably, Pakistan and India find themselves in the same group, which also includes the Netherlands, Namibia, and the USA. Pakistan’s campaign will kick off against the Netherlands in Colombo on 7th February next year. The team will also face the USA, India, and Namibia in the group stage matches.

All of Pakistan’s matches are set to take place in Sri Lanka as part of the ICC’s Fusion Formula, which ensures India-Pakistan encounters occur at neutral venues for the next three years. Other competing groups in the tournament include teams such as Australia, Sri Lanka, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, South
Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan, UAE, and Canada.
