Islamabad: Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary P©ter Szijj¡rt³ is set to undertake an official visit to Pakistan on Thursday. He will be accompanied by a high-level business delegation focused on exploring business opportunities within the country.
According to Radio Pakistan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will engage in both one-on-one and delegation-level talks with Foreign Minister Szijj¡rt³. The discussions will primarily focus on deepening collaboration in the economic, trade, energy, and investment sectors between the two governments.
During the visit, several Memorandums of Understanding and an Agreement on Cooperation will be signed, particularly in the fields of Culture, Archaeology, and Cultural Heritage, as well as the Abolition of Visas for holders of Diplomatic Passports. Foreign Minister Szijj¡rt³ is also scheduled to interact with other dignitaries during his stay.
This trip marks Szijj¡rt³’s second visit to Pakistan and is aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation and fostering a mutually beneficial economic partnership. Pakistan places significant importance on its relationship with Hungary, a bond that has been strengthened through regular high-level exchanges and shared perspectives on regional and international issues.
This year also commemorates the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Hungary. A notable aspect of their strong bilateral ties includes the successful investment of Hungarian oil and gas company MOL in Pakistan since 1999.
