Rawalpindi: Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi inaugurated a new rake of Railcar in Rawalpindi today. Speaking on the occasion, he announced that nine coaches have been added to the railcar.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister revealed that 400 new coaches will be included in the railway system by the end of this year. Efforts are underway to modernize the railway infrastructure, with a focus on ensuring transparency within the system.
He further elaborated that the Islamabad Margalla Railway Station will be expanded and connected with the Metro Bus Station at the 9th Avenue. The Minister also mentioned that modern scanners are being installed and VIP lounges will be opened at major railway stations to enhance passenger facilities.
Hanif Abbasi emphasized that providing the best facilities to passengers remains a top priority for the government. He also shared plans to uplift the Rohri Railway Station with an investment of eight hundred million rupees in collaboration with the Sindh Government.
Additionally, the Minister stated that the upgradation work of Narowal and Faisalabad Railway Stations is underway and nearing completion. He also touched upon the Pak-Saudi defense agreement, highlighting its potential benefits for Pakistan Railways.
