Gwadar Being Developed as Key Export Hub for Africa: Junaid

Islamabad: Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry has announced that Gwadar is being developed as a future key export hub for Africa. He shared this information during a meeting with Rwanda's High Commissioner Harerimana Fatou in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, Junaid Anwar Chaudhry emphasized that the objective is to penetrate the East African market, which comprises five hundred million consumers. He highlighted that new maritime corridors are anticipated to reduce trade costs by up to thirty percent. The Karachi-Djibouti route, in particular, is expected to significantly shorten delivery times.

Chaudhry also noted that the Karachi-Mombasa route will play a crucial role in further enhancing regional integration. Meanwhile, the Rwandan High Commissioner remarked that improved connectivity would lead to an increase in bilateral trade between the two nations.
