Lahore: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bukhari has addressed the media regarding the ongoing flood situation and the government’s stance on flour prices. She emphasized that while the flood situation in Jalalpur Pirwala remains serious, effective measures have been implemented to protect the city.
According to Radio Pakistan, Azma Bukhari highlighted that over four thousand villages have been impacted by the floods, resulting in the evacuation of more than thirteen thousand six hundred individuals to safer locations over the past three days. This effort has increased the total number of rescued people to approximately 2.3 million.
The Provincial Minister assured that the situation in Head Muhammad Wala Sher Shah is under control. Additionally, she stressed the government’s commitment to preventing any artificial increase in flour prices and warned of strict actions against those involved in hoarding wheat stocks.
