Govt Unveils Vision for Digital Transformation with “Digital Nation Pakistan 2025”

Lahore: Advisor to Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad has unveiled the government's ambitious plan, "Digital Nation Pakistan 2025", aimed at transforming the country into a digitally-empowered nation. Speaking at the FinTech Forward Forum during the 27th ITCN Asia at the Expo Center Lahore, Schehzad emphasized the comprehensive nature of this vision.

According to Radio Pakistan, Khurram Schehzad highlighted significant progress in the digitalization of government operations, stating that currently, 99 percent of government files are transferred digitally between ministries through the E-Office platform. This digital transition has effectively addressed issues such as data loss and decision-making delays.

Khurram Schehzad outlined the government's clear objectives, which include achieving 120 million bank accounts and ensuring all government-to-government transactions become entirely digital by the end of this year. He emphasized the commitment to laying a digital foundation across the entire government system.

In response to queries, Schehzad revealed plans for offering special incentives to investors under the industrial policy. Additionally, small loans are being provided to SMEs, agriculture, and youth to promote entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency.

Schehzad also announced the issuance of skill bonds to support skilled individuals and highlighted the government's active efforts in formulating policies to empower the youth, particularly in the financial and digital sectors.
