Govt Unveils Digital Mobile Wallet Payment to Propel Cashless Economy

Islamabad: Minister of State for Finance and Railways, Bilal Azhar Kayani, announced the launch of the Digital Mobile Wallet Payment system as a crucial move towards achieving a cashless economy. Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad, he emphasized the government's dedication to this transformative strategy.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister highlighted the government's vigorous approach to establishing a cashless economy, marking the introduction of the digital wallet as a significant step towards transparency and financial inclusion. This initiative is expected to revolutionize financial transactions by reducing dependency on cash.

Bilal Azhar Kayani also mentioned the expansion of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), with its funding increased to 716 billion rupees. This program empowers ten million deserving families through direct cash transfers, playing a key role in supporting marginalized communities, particularly women.

The Minister emphasized that BISP is instrumental in uplifting the underprivileged sections of society, ensuring that financial assistance reaches those who need it most. The government's efforts underscore a commitment to leveraging technological advancements to foster economic growth and societal inclusion.
