Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi says government is taking all out measures to hold free, fair and transparent elections in the country. He was talking to the Caretaker Interior Minister Gohar Ijaz in Islamabad on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, Gohar Ijaz expressed satisfaction that there is a complete coordination between Federal and provincial governments in order to tighten the security arrangements during elections. He urged all political parties to provide full support to Caretaker government in the maintenance of law and order during polls being held on 8th of next month in the country. Matters pertaining to the responsibilities of media during the general elections also came under discussion. The Information Minister urged media to follow electoral code of conduct in letter and spirit as media has an important role in making polls transparent and impartial. He further stressed to avoid propaganda and provocation in this regard. Murtaza Solangi also felicit ated Gohar Ijaz for assuming the portfolio of Interior Minister. Source: Radio Pakistan
