Islamabad: Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik highlighted the government’s commitment to promoting sustainable and mechanized mining during a discussion with German Ambassador Ina Lepel.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ali Pervaiz Malik emphasized that the government is also focusing on upgrading refineries, which he noted as crucial steps towards achieving decarbonization and green transition goals. The minister’s comments underscore the strategic importance placed on modernizing Pakistan’s energy and mining sectors to align with global sustainability targets.

The German Ambassador remarked on the significant potential present in Pakistan’s mining and natural resources sector. She pointed out that the Reko Diq project will serve as an important test case for attracting international investment, indicating a positive outlook for foreign engagement in Pakistan’s natural resources initiatives.
