Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to completely eliminating terrorism from Pakistan. He was addressing a forum titled ‘The Persistence of Terrorism in Pakistan: Challenges and the Way Forward,’ in Islamabad.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Information Minister emphasized that Pakistan’s armed forces, security agencies, police, and provincial governments are working in a coordinated and decisive manner against terrorism across the country. Attaullah Tarar paid tribute to the armed forces, highlighting their sacrifices in the war against terrorism, noting that they have protected not only Pakistan but also the world from this menace.
He highlighted the national unity that followed the Army Public School tragedy and mentioned that major military operations, including Zarb-e-Azb and Radd-ul-Fasaad, had successfully restored peace in the country. The Minister reaffirmed that the current government under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is fully committed to implementing the National Action Plan in letter and spirit, which encompasses both kinetic measures and non-kinetic strategies such as economic reforms and de-radicalization.
He also noted that Pakistan’s role in global diplomacy has strengthened, with the country’s achievements in economic stability, digitization, and counterterrorism efforts gaining international recognition.
